I just finished the arrangement of 24 sonatas by domenico scarlatti for an Italian publisher.
It is a project together with Gabriel GulliƩn, a great Venezolan master of the classical guitar. The recording of the pieces is in progress. CD and scores will be published during the first quarter of 2005.

All scores are produced with Overture.
An example of sonata K533 you may download from

http://music.v4m.net/classics/scarlatti/K533_Sonata.ove

The score uses 5 voices and two tracks.
Voice 1 to 3 are for the guitar solos.
Voice 4 & 5 are used for keyswitches to control the playing techniques of the guitar. This voices are invisible.
You may not find dynamics in the scores, because Scarlatti didn't use dynamics in his original scores. The expressions is only controlled by velocity & key switches. This gives also a better behavour of the sequencer.
You may download a recording with GigaStudio (using my own samples of my ramirez guitar) from

http://music.v4m.net/classics/scarlatti ... nata_h.mp3

Further examples you'll find under

http://music.v4m.net --> project classics.

Enjoy it,

:-) Jovan

Jovan, how can I get in touch with you? Your email address was returned as not valid. I want to put some of your scores on the website as examples of what Overture can do.

Jovan, keep posting your work. I've really enjoyed your original composition as well as the transcriptions. I wish you would arrange some of your work (chamber pieces) for the standard classical guitar instead of the special instrument you use since I think more guitarists would want to play your works.

Hi Ron,

thank you for your hint.
I'll publish soon two arangements of concerts by Haydn (Cello in C major) & Mozart (Bassoon in A major) for classical guitar & orchestra and an own concert0 (night.mare).
But I'll wait for Overture 4 two finish it, because I found a lot of features on the features list, which will make my life much easier.

Kind regards,

:-) Jovan

Very nice piece of work, the Scarlatti-file, Jovan!

But I was wondering: wouldn't it make the score more clear if you'd set some stems to height 3.0? (eg: measures 3, 4 & 5/voice 2 and 6, 7 & 8/voice 1).

Just a thought.....

Bart
