Would someone please make a suggestion as to how to setup my Overture to accommodate my audio M-Audio 49i? It comes with a computer/USB cable and I have downloaded the software that came with the M-Audio keyboard. However, Overture is not receiving my midi notes or step input commands.
Do I need to unhook the midi to my Motu Express XT ? I am not using my other midi sound sources these days but it would be nice to have either option available. Quicktime for playback of overture files is sufficient for doing lead sheets for me.
What should the Apple Audio Set up look like?

I'm no great guru on this, but probably you need to open the Tracks window and select your device. By default Quicktime will be selected. If you option/alt click on the device (Quicktime) for the first track and select your device from the pop-up it will be selected for all tracks. (I'm assuming your M-Audio appears in the Devices list (Menu: Options/Midi Devices.)
If that doesn't help, give a few more details of what your settings are (Overture and System).
As regards the Apple audio-midi setup, my experience is that it all happens automatically.

I use that keyboard so somehow I get it to work.
For starters, with it plugged in, I would re-boot, just to see if it works.
If not, go to audio midi set up and make sure it's selected.
Then in Overture, options>midi devices and select the M-audio.
This keyboard , for me, has been the easiest, most trouble free midi setup keyboard I've ever had - plug it in and it works.
Although, I admit, not totally plug and play in Overture (for some reason) Logic sees it immediately but Overture doesn't. I've often wondered why.
