Scarlatti & the most realistic virtual guitar

Postby jovan » Tue Apr 12, 2011 7:23 am

Below you'll find a link to Sonata K373 by Domenico Scarlatti performed with the most realistic virtual nylon guitar:
ILYA EFIMOV NYLON GUITAR LIBRARY.

The library by Ilya Efimov

is really the best library of a nylon string guitar, which I ever have bought.

And - as shown in the video - the marriage with Overture is perfect. It is possible to control each sound, articulation, string position and so on using expressions, articulations, dynamics etc. of Overture.

But enough words.
Build up your own mind.

Yes!! Great, lovely and virtuoso. The only thing I missed was the sound of the fingers sliding over the strings as often heard in guitar solo pieces. I am not familiar with the original harpsichord version, but as far as I can judge you "caught" Scarlatti very well.

Edited: looking at the pictures of that library, there is a knob/setting for "fretnoise" etc........

Thanks for your comment, Raymond. "Fretnoise" - your comment is true, I reduced the volume of it, because I would like to have the Scarlatti more or less clean. I also I didn't use vibrato and other special guitar playing techniques, which are very easy to handle with the Ilya Efimov Nylon String Guitar.
The original piece was composed for harpsichord, an instrument which really do not have many playing techniques.
