Symphony 1 - D-minor

Postby Raymond63 » Wed Apr 20, 2011 4:33 pm

Proudly I present my first Symphony in D minor. The story is based upon the Book of Revelations.

Part 1 (deel 1)[16:10]: Chapter 18 - the soloist is weeping over a lost world, the just destroyed Babylon (from verse 4..)

Part 2 (deel 2)[11:13] Chapter 9 - the marching troops and machinery are nearing the Earth, but still people refuse to recognize the majesty of God and continue with their murdering and festivities - the soloist is dragged into this, but at the end realized what he is doing, just before the final destruction takes place.

Part 3 (deel 3)[11:24] Chapter 7 - The blessed from all nations bring worship to God

Part 4 (deel 4)[13:09] Chapter 8.... - Scenes of battle and victory, the 5th trumpet sounds, to end with the Hymn Victimae Páschali Laudes

It all takes about 52 minutes. Rendered with headphones only, beware of the volume!!! Not compressed audio!

Score: written with Overture, december 2008 - till march 2009.
Midi: used in Sonar 8.5.3 / 64 bits - VSTi EWQL SO Plat+
Audio: imported in Sonar 8.5.3. / 32 bits - because of Altiverb
Wave editor: panning set to 120% - and just a tiny bit of hard limiting.

Raymond

[I edited the link. Also applied some minor changes to the overall rendering. The score is in .pdf format]

Hi Raymond,

The link is broken now as you posted at another thread, but I already downloaded the MP3 files a week ago, so I can listen to them now. Today, I listened partially. Simply stated, they are ambitious and changeful music. I believe you are rather elder, but your music is youthful. I look up to you as a person of an aspirational spirit.

Good morning Tatsu,

thank you. Yes, I still don't exactly know what I did with that Box.net, but the result is that "everything" has been deleted. Since I am re-arranging my system, it will take a while to restore those files.
Today we have our national holiday, celebrating the birthday of our queen Beatrix, together with sunshine and a good temperature, who stays at home?

Not me! Still young at heart, :D

Tatsu, I never answered your hidden question. Yes, I am elder, 67 years. But I wish to grow older because I have lots of music in my head and on paper, ready to be "compiled".

By the way, I edited the original message with a fresh link to the newly uploaded (same old) Symphony.

I already decided you're 67. Don't you know I'm a good guesser, do you?
