Guitar tabs adjusted for open tunings?

Post by aviavi »

Hi. Is there a way to have a notation+tabs score where the tabs correspond to the correct adjusted positions in an open tuning (like open D (D-A-D-F#-A-D)?

When working with a tab staff, we can set it so that any tuning of the strings can be used. If fact, when we first establish a tab staff, we get a dialog that shows the tuning to be used by default, but we can change that before proceeding.

Note than when entering the open pitches of the stings, they must be in terms of how they would notated on the regular notation staff. So if you follow the common custom of the regular notation staff for a guitar being written an octave above sounding pitch, when you enter the pitches of the strings into the tuning table you must enter them an octave higher than the actual pitch.

I hope I have answered the right question.

Best regards,

Alan
