No worries.
Like I said, o v needs a whole bunch of things to be global. Articulations, Dynamics, Expressions, Etc
Volume dynamics not working
Re: Volume dynamics not working
In the score you provided, ALL of your dynamics DO NOT have the "Play" box checked.
Yes and yes... at least for the current score, which could then be used for future scores. However, it's always as simple as putting in the dynamic mark you want, using the default value... or setting values you want, and then applying those values for all in that particular instrument's track or the entire score.
Assuming I'm following you correctly, yes, I think you are but it can be a combination of applying those settings to the majority of what you want and including certain exceptions. But this also touches on your concern about realism from another post...using the same/generic values for everything without adjusting them individually...which will get you more robotic and less realistic results.
I am assuming you have not tried the global ("In Entire Score") and individual track settings ("In This Track") for articulations and dynamics. For Expressions, you can set & edit global parameters under the Track Inspector > Expressions Tab. And then, if you don't want a combination of different expression settings, at the very least, there is always the ability to fall back on copying and pasting expressions or any other settings you may have adjusted and want to repeat elsewhere.

Re: Volume dynamics not working
Dean,
Great reply and thank you.Your observation that "Play" was not checked really surprised me because that is the first time that has ever happened (for me). I normaly never pay attention to that box and don't have that issue so I looked at a few of my other scores and I see that the Play box defaulted to being checked. For some reason (possibly because I converted all instruments to ASO from Garritan?) the Play boxes became "unchecked" in the score I posted. In any case I now know to check that should the situation arise in the fyuture.
I do set All In Score or All in Track accordingly and definitely tweak individual instances to bring out certain dynamics (as a conductor would do). I also at times (especially with percussion) tweak the velocity, which makes a difference (in some instruments) in volume.
As I believe I mentioned previously, for many years I didn't zone in on the dynamics too much because I would export each staff to a separate track in Pro Tools (DAW) and balance as needed, getting very precise with dynamics. When I discovered I could record, visually, the score playing and decided to YouTube recent works that way I realized I needed to get the playback as realistic as possible using just OV. That led me to learn much about OV (with your help and others).
Pete
