[Resolved]Shortcut for "Leave Inserted Symbol Selected"

Post by PeteFine »

A keyboard shortcut for the Preference- "Leave Inserted Symbol Selected" would greatly help when writing in multiple voices on a staff, which is done often and regularly in orchestral scores.
At present, to write for 2 flutes (for example) I enter a note, then have to deselect that note before hitting Ctl 2 to enter the second flute (second voice), then if I want to write more for the 1st flute I again have to deselect the previously entered note and hit Ctl 1, etc.... If I don't deselect the note, the first note I entered will change to the new voice.

I can uncheck the "Leave Inserted Symbol Selected" preference and this eliminates this problem but creates other problems when you need to edit or move the note you just entered.
Having a way to switch this Preference on and off quickly would be a huge help and time saver in composing on staves with 2 or more players.

I thought users knew this. If you read the documentation, which seems to be difficult these days for some, the answer is in there.
If you had searched for '"voice" in the help, one of the results in "During Mouse Entry" which is what the first post was asking.
Under keyboard short cuts "During Mouse Entry", if you hold down the Ctrl[cmd] key and enter a note, the inserted voice will toggle between 1 & 2.

This is why there is no need for additional key strokes.

Wow.So simple. I appreciate the extra help (from one of those who, yes, should spend more time with the documentation) :D
