[Solved]Overture 5.6.3-3 crashes at printing

Post by TheMarcophone »

Hi!
Running v. 5.6.3-3 on Mac OS Ventura 13.0
The software crashes when trying to print.
I've been out of my work for seven months and this is the first time I open Overture for a long time.

The bug has been reported to me by another colleague and seems to happen on different cpus...

Can you help?
Thaks!

This has been fixed. Just download the demo and install it.
The demo is the same as the retail version.

or use the temporary solution : Try to select the " Range from " intead of " All pages" .

What version would that get one? Is it later than 5.6.3-3?

Hi Don....I just now (after having difficulty printing) saw that you posted to "just download the demo". I did that, and I got this message: "Can't be opened because Apple cannot check for Malware". Software needs to be updated.

What do you suggest? For the record, I tried date ranges (1-26), and it still crashed. I did find that I could do a date range, a few at a time, and it worked, thankfully.

Please advise how I can download the "demo" to avoid this problem.

Thank you

Hi LE,

Just to be clear your question doesn't have to do with printing per se.... just being able to launch Overture, correct?

I'm not using Overture on a Mac but that message usually means you need to allow the program in your Mac security settings.

There are a couple of ways to try...

Don't use Launch pad and go to your Finder > Go to Overture > Control-click Overture > Choose Open from the menu > Click Open

It should be enabled from that point forward when you try to launch it/double click.

You could also select the "Open Anyway" button in Privacy & Security settings after you try opening Overture and see that message.

To do it that way... go to Apple menu > System Settings > click Privacy & Security in the sidebar and look for it there.

Hope that helps...

NO, it has to do with printing, or creating a PDF. Update....when using the page range, and using 1-26, it crashed every time, whether creating a pdf or printing. I tried then to just print one page, and finally it worked. Then I got brave, and did two pages at a time, and it worked. And then, I did seven, and IT worked. I haven't tried to do all 26 pages...but I got what I needed, this time.
