Temporary place for information and bug reporting on Overture 4 for the Mac.

non english characters

Postby Pierre Julien » Sat Aug 04, 2012 5:10 pm

Hi you all

This time it's not a problem with the file name having a non-english character, but the folder in which the files are stored.

If the folder has a non-english character, then Overture will not open the files that are stored inside. I get the famous (infamous) "101 error code".

If I replace the folder name by characters with no accents, then Overture will open the files that are stored inside.

No relation to mountain lion, Overture behaved the same way with OX 10.6.8

And yes, I have the last patch.
Best of all and hope your day is a nice one

Hi Robert

Most of my file names are in french. As you know, here and there, there are non-english characters. That bug for file names had been repaired, so I didn't know where the error code was coming from.
Wondered what was the difference between folders in which files would open and others in which they wouldn't.

So I dragged a file (with accents) to the desktop and Overture opened it. Then I noticed there was also an accent in the folder's name. So I eliminated all accents in the folder's name and then Overture opened every file contained in that folder.
Best of all and hope your day is a nice one

Pierre
