Re: [Solved]Maintain Vibrato?

Thanks, Don, I did detect a slight vibrato before trying to change it but I wanted a little more for the soloist. Sorry, I should have checked the ASO user guide first; I see the vibrato is discussed on page 14.

[Solved]Maintain Vibrato?

I am writing a piece for solo viola and orchestra, and want to apply vibrato to the solo part. In the "Show Track's Instrument" window I checked the NV-VB box and got a vibrato, but when I close the file it doesn't come back when I re-open. Should I have checked the VB box instead? (When I...

Re: The 5.6.4.0 'update'

I, too, would like to know if a version later than 5.6.1-2 is available for download.

Re: Col legno?

You're absolutely right, Don, I just didn't know how to apply it from the Expressions list. I was trying to do it from the "Show Track's Instrument" window. (Still on a long-term earning curve after more than two years with Overture.)

Re: Simultaneous Arco and Pizzicato?

I found a "kludjy" way to do it. I put both parts on the first violin track arco "Divisi,", and he same two parts on the second violin track pizzicato "Divisi." Then I put the viola part also on the cello track Divisi which was already pizzicato. But here must be a bett...

Simultaneous Arco and Pizzicato?

Is there way to have one string voice play arco while another voice plays pizzicato on the same track? I want to divide, e.g., the first violins and have some play arco while others play pizzicato, but whatever marking I put in seems to affect both voices. (Using OV 5.6.1-2 and ASO).

Re: Problem with Trills

Thanks, I will play around with this. But the "Auxiliary First" remains checked in my Windows 7 Ov 5.6.1-2. How can I get 5.6.3-2 which might solve a few other problems as well?

Problem with Trills

I am trying to put trills into a viola track, but running into two issues: (1)The "Edit Trill" window always has "Auxiliary First" checked, even if I click "Done" after changing it, both in the major and minor trills; I want to begin the trill on the main note but can't...

Re: Col legno?

I haven't looked at the solo patches for this composition, only the section samples. I see the "Bartok Pizzicato" but as it stands it doesn't seem different from the regular pizzicato. How would I adjust it in the pizz. window to make it more like col legno? Also, when I select an articula...

Col legno?

Is there a way to make the violin (and other string) sections play col legno? (There was some discussion of col legno a several years back but I don't know whether it was made available in ASO since.)

Re: Tambourine in ASO or MIDI?

Thanks, Merv. I found it where you described. But when I entered a note (on percussion staff) and right-clicked and selected "Change pitch to" it was F#3. But it works.

Re: Tambourine in ASO or MIDI?

I don't have a MIDI keyboard, I do everything through the computer. Is there a way to get the tambourine through the PC?

Tambourine in ASO or MIDI?

I want to add a Tambourine to a composition I am working on, but can't find it in ASO. I found it in General MIDI Orchestral Layout/Drums/Misc but I can't make it play. Any suggestions on either of these issues?

Re: Amadeus 2.0?

It would be nice to have a symphonic muted trumpet and trombone.
