I have been waiting for news on an upgrade in GPOs Personal Orchestra, particularly regarding the Aria Player that is supposed to be able to replace NIs Kontack Player, yet I see no news.

Does anyone know anything about this product's availability?

Not far away.

But someone will need to write an XML file so that Overture can recognize it and work with it efficiently.

Damn.

Who do *I* pay to get that done then!?

I would like to put Kontact behind me; it is real bleeding edge software and I could really use something that just works without jury-rigging.

The Aria player is not exactly mature product, but I for one will be pleased if I don't have to jump thru all manner of hoops to authorize licencing of it. The NI system is close to the limit of toleration.

Hopefully the Aria powered version of Garriton P Orchestra will not be a radical departure, and the existing XML definition can be used a basis for updating Overture support for it. I understand an Aria/GPO-lite is supplied with A.N.Other scoring software, which may yield clues as to the effort that will be required.

The one I baulk at is Garritan's forthcoming (apparently) world instruments library. This appeals to me a lot; writing an XML file for it from scratch does not. (It's the wrong season for that sort of thing).
