Ok, I have Amadeus. Not leaving it sit there, collecting dust, I tried to make a reasonable sounding piece with strings only.
If anybody wishes to knwo how I did this, leave comment on this board and I will tell you and send the score (PM-me).

This piece originated from 2008 and was ment to explore the possibilities of EWQL strings. Since then, hidden in the dark cellar of forgotten pieces, it begged for revision.
So why not? Amadeus is there and let me try out this orchestra.

I only took the strings, violins, violins2, violas, cellos, basses and each one has its own Kontakt Player. Easier for controlling the panning which different from standard.
Violins 1 - left
Violins 2 - right
Cellos - left
Violas - right
Basses - slightly right form center.

The recording is a result of playing it from Overture. No special tricks, no equalizing/compression on the end product. Just plain Amadeus and Overture.

Enjoy and I welcome comments. Let us make Amadeus great (it already) for using it in Overture.
My impression: the strings are really great, much better than those of EWQL

Raymond

Here is a second recording of the same piece. Playing speed 120% faster, panning different, added some irregularities for the cellos, basses and violas.

Now for the spanish grammar.

Greetings

Oh Raymond! Oh wow! Oh wow!

From the first with its lower echo-like undertone, I loved it. This is
a spectacular piece! Bring out more of those dusty pieces and fill them
with Amadeus. I for one will be waiting...

Hello Raymond. Was that a section from a larger work or was it a stand alone project? Had it been in three quarter or six eight time and at a bit faster tempo it could easily have come across as a waltz or minuet. That’s what the piece reminded me of. Nice job with the balance. Since this one sounded very nice, why not try your hand at another ASO project with different instrumentation?

Very nice Raymond, Particularly the attach, tone and reverb on Violin 1 and 2.

I'd be curious to hear the result if you're able delay the cello and bass slightly, roughly 30 to 60 milliseconds. Presently those parts sound in lockstep with the onset of the melody, or perhaps slightly leading. If you delay the cello and bass, then those parts and the melody and should sound clearer.

When I have the time and the appropriate piece. I must study the spanish language (grammar) again, because of my next holiday to Spain (to my spanish freinds) since years and I want being able to have a nice conversation. By the way in the original message I added a second recording of the same piece. Better? I think so.

Greetings,

Raymond

I am not that good in writing waltzes. It is a free standing piece, just for testing purposes the EWQL strings.
See me original message for an update on this piece.

Thank you for your kind words and see you

You are right. In the update I slightly put the notes violas, cellos and basses out of line. Together with some changes in panning, augmenting the speed, I must agree that it sounds much better. See my original message for the update of the piece.

A somewhat slower version, for better phrasing and articulation.

Now something else, it was just a test, you know.

This is inspirational. 1) Lovely piece 2) Nice showcase for what's possible with Amadeus and Overture.

3 Cheers!
