I know this will sound crazy, but please - being a version 4.1 Scorewriter user for many years, I am struggling with some basic tasks in version 5.
1. Context:
I set up a new score in the key of C (no sharps, no flats - ok we all know that)
I input a B note from my pc keyboard.
2. How: I can either grab it and move it with my mouse or use the arrow keys. (I am not using midi)
I highlight it (it turns red) to move it down a half step to Bb.
3. Issue:
The note moves down to the A note but I cannot set it to the Bb note.
I cannot set any notes to accidentals?
Someone please help?
Thanks.
[Solved]Basic note pitch step
Re: Basic note pitch step
PLEASE, PLEASE, read the manual.
There are several methods.
1. You cn set how dragging vertically affects notes in preferences (drag chromatically).
2. Hilight the note and the ctrl[cmd] click on the flat symbol in notes palette.
3. Hilight it and transpose it chromatically.

Re: [Solved]Basic note pitch step
Dear Don,
Thank you. Of course you are correct. I apologize for being such a numpty as not to notice the first box, 'drag notes chromatically' in my preferences was unchecked! Doh! Because that option of dragging chromatically was not required in scorewriter 4, I assumed the same for SW5. Thanks again.
