Overture Text objects can have Enclosures. And an Enclosure has a line thickness property.

I'd also like a Padding property that offsets text inward from the enclosure line, like in HTML:

This would provide users an easy way to dial in "breathing room" and achieve a spaciousness that differs from Overture tightly constrained default.

cool and if it's not much effort for the user to dial it in-I would welcome that! :D

Use the W H: values as padding in the text dialog box.

Thanks. Yes W & H properties work like padding (pushing any border outward) so perhaps it's worth labeling it as such in the dialog and explaining padding in QuickHelp.

    W provides right/left padding
    H provides top/bottom padding

In CSS parlance:

padding:10px 5px; ... sets 10 for top/bottom and 5 for left/right, so maybe it makes sense to list the parameters in a similar order H W.

Nevertheless, Overture's text "padding" parameters would most apparent to all if labeled:

    Padding: Top/Bottom (instead of H)
    Padding: Left/Right (instead of W)

QuickHelp covers neither the X Y or W H parameters, so unfortunately the user has to experiment to understand. (I see how X Y offsets work, but can't think of any practical application of that effect.)
