Don,
Reasonable improvement of the Hairpins came to my mind...
Would be better if we are able to control the Hairpin angle, also in the Edit Hairpin dialog per selected symbol, in degrees (from 10, to 60).
I know that we can control the angle manually by dragging the hairpin handles. But the improvement I'm asking for, will make the things
much more precise. This will eliminate the dependency of the mouse optical sensitivity accuracy. The cheap mouses are not as accurate as the very expensive ones.
It would be great if we have both ways of adjustment, just if we change the angle by dragging it should affect the angle in the Edit Hairpin dialog, too.

I hope you would think about it! :-)

Thank you in advance! :-)

Greetings :-)

I would like to remind for this very old and helpful request. :-)
We could have editable global default angle in Engraver > Hairpins.
If we would like to edit more precisely, per hairpin, the angle edition could be also placed in the Hairpin Dialog.

Thank you in advance! :-)

I find many problems with hairpins colliding with other symbols like dynamics or notes below the staff. There should be a way to correct this on an entire score so each one does not need separate moving when this happens.

+1 for Pete's request to avoid hairpin collisions.
Cheers
David

Come on you guys, really? Why not just move them, adjust them, realign them, resize them, angle them. Hairpin collisions are easy to fix. Elbow grease! Work! Sweat! Real composition involves all these things.

Pete and Thurisaz, please don’t let your hairpins cause you grief!

I see two possible fixes here:
I fix them as I enter or find them, and/or I set my View from 100 to 250 or thereabouts if I want both fine tuning and precise placement. This makes fine tuning infinitely easier.

That being said, perhaps Don can find a solution to avoid (some) hairpin collisions.

Elbow grease..of course! Is that a menu selection I missed?

I so thoroughly enjoy repositioning, dragging, etc every hairpin in a 22 stave, 50 page orchestral score. JUST KIDDING!!
This collision of hairpins with notes has been around way too long and needs to be fixed. likewise dynamics positioning. Way too tedious and, by now, should not happen.

OK here is a gift. For now in the next release (5.6.2.0), you can use alt[option] down or up arrow to change the angle on all selected hairpins.

Thank you for this improvement, Don! :-)

Best wishes,
Thurisaz
