When a group of notes are dragged up or down in pitch, or dragged left or right, Undo reverts the change AND deselects the notes.

When arrow keys are used to move a group of selected notes up or down in pitch, or moved left or right with arrow keys, Undo reverts the change AND preserves the selection.

The latter, where the selection is preserved, seems like the correct and more advantageous behavior.

I don't think deselection should occur after a small operation is run. And I don't think the method (like drag vs. nudge) should affect the outcome ...

I'm seeing many more instance of needlessly and unexpectedly lost selections.

For example: Select a group of notes and set their face value by pressing the number 4 key.
Unexpected result: the selection is lost.

Another instance is Set to Voice.

Notes become deselected on Set to Voice.

]I performed the following as a stress test: Overture deselects the notes even the entire selection is in Voice 1 and I set it redundantly to Voice 1.

Might I suggest a Reselect menu item in the Edit menu? Or some quick mechanism to Restores Prior Selection.

I'm encountering lots more situations where, after various operations, Overture loses the selection for no apparent reason. This just slows down work.

Given that several members have recently had numerous reasonable posts silently deleted, it seems that expounding further on this may prove to waste of my time. Therefore I'll leave it for others to comment and document, or for Sonic Scores to search out the issues.

Whatever the case, it seems that after an Undo the prior selection should be reinstated, or the user should have the option to do so.

Selection is lost after Quantize or Humanize. Is there some advantage or need for this?

Transpose and Composer Tools don't lose the selection ...

I run into a lot of seemingly pointless de-selection in Overture, so I'm bumping this thread.

Totally agree with you! The best solution would be a Option check box to have notes either stay selected or not... an Option that is saved globally.
