Currently using Overture version 5.6.3-3 running under Windows 7 Professional, SP1.
Just a reminder that I think it would be very desirable for the default folder for the File>Open operation to be "sticky". This would be a great convenience in much of my work, whenever I am dealing with several scores all in the same sub-folder (perhaps different version of the same work, where there is one subfolder for all files related to that work, as is my practice).
Best regards,
Alan

Re: Desirable for folder in File>Open to be "sticky"
My File>Open in 5.6.1-2 defaults to the last one opened, which helps. Also File>Recent Scores works well; you get a list of recently opened files. BTW, how did you get 5.6.3-3? I can't find anything more recent to download than the version I have.

Hi, RC,
In 5.6.3-3, File>Open always goes to the directory set up in Preferences as the Default documents folder.
Best regards,
Alan
Well, I think that is what I would like. I didn't know any versions did that.

Yes, but that is no help if I want to open other scores in the same folder that I haven't recently opened. Also File>Recent Scores works well; you get a list of recently opened files.
It was released in the regular way in November of 2020.BTW, how did you get 5.6.3-3? I can't find anything more recent to download than the version I have.

Re: Desirable for folder in File>Open to be "sticky"
I have been reminded that if I were to open existing scores with File>New>Open Existing Score, that is "sticky". I guess I just have too much inertia, and always think of using File>Open!
Which I still think should be "sticky"

Alan

If you have Overture pinned to the Taskbar, you can right click on it and get a list of recent files to open directly
