Parts Shortcuts

Post by PeteFine »

Please bring back keyboard shortcuts for Multi measure rests (it used to be possible...why eliminate it??) and paste as cue. These are frequently used in editing parts and having to go to menus each time is cumbersome. We need shortcuts.

Hi Peter,
Custom keyboard shortcuts can be created using Options > Edit Key Commands. I suspect you know about this, but may have forgotten about the feature!

My suggested custom shortcuts:
Paste as Cue: Command/Ctrl + Shift + v (as it's a variant of Paste)
Multi-measure rest: Option/Alt + spacebar, (as it's a variant of adding a rest); or Option/Alt + m perhaps!

PS: I enjoy reading your posts :)

I think the trick is to choose shortcuts which:
– are not currently used
– are logical (e.g. Paste as Cue would make sense as a variant of Paste/Ctrl +v rather than something like Ctrl/Command + shift + alt/option + P, which would be pretty impossible to remember!!) :)
