Can't move notes laterally

Post by PeteFine »

I used to do this all the time. In this extracted and saved part, meas 199, I am trying to nudge the highlighted notes to the right, as they notated very close together. I can't use Ctl J to justify it, nor can I use the arrow keys to move the notes. They are just glued to their position. If I grab them with the mouse I can move them but as soon as I let go they snap back to their old position. What am I doing wrong? This used to work in past versions.

UPDATE: Somehow, after several attempts, I did get it to nudge with the arrows but, even stranger, when I went to do the same to another measure, the notes in the first measure returned to their original position!

Turn off Options > Auto > Space Notes then move your notes as required. Then just turn Auto > Space Notes back on. Your notes will retain their corrected position. If you move them after this they will revert to their original position - obviously an obscure bug.

Merv,
You are a walking, talking OV5 manual.
Thank you! (and, yes, this should be fixed...).
