Project cannot bind to moved Midi File

Post by Trankonia »

It appears that it is not possible to bind the project to a new midi file location that was previously used in a project. The projects originally pointed to midi files on a drive letter I: That drive no longer exists. However, the midi files were moved to a new location and now Overture cannot find them and there is no way to let the project locate their new path. This essentially means none of my projects will open.

Please advise if there is a way to correct this, otherwise, I have lost numerous projects!!!

I don't even know what that might mean. I'm not aware of any "project" construct in Overture, nor any way that an Overture score file points to MIDI files.

Overture can import MIDI files and transcribe them to Overture score files, but once that is done there is no ongoing connection between the Overture score file and such MIDI files.

That I know of. But I am always learning new things. Maybe I can here.

Perhaps you are thinking of, for example, Cakewalk.

Best regards,

Alan
