Figured Bass

Request: Figured Bass.

In its simplest form figured bass is just like chords, except that the "root" (the key) is missing, and a different convention applies to the suffices. I believe Overture contains the necessary siffix symbols to construct figures, but the key needs to be omitted or be invisible. I think a useful implementation could be achieved as follows:

In the chord library editing system, allow the key note to be thrown into the bin (or some other approch to hiding it - see above discussion).

Given that, someone in the know could make up a "figures" chord library.

This is good request and after Overture 4 ships, I'll try to sneek this in. Just have the time to get it in Oveture 4 firs version.

just thought I'd second that...figured bass would be a great thing to have. Did you know that I've even used it in a composition or two? But at least it would come in handy for transcriptions...

May 2012 ... There is no way to notate figured bass in baroque music with Overture 4.1.15 ? Needed !
