Hi guys,
I'm new to Overture and it looks very promising and easy.
I have the following question to the dev team, and the experienced users.
I can't figure out how configure the metronome click to follow patterns in odd meters. This is needed for real-time recording.
For example: Time signature of 5/8 could have the following patterns 1-2 + 1-2-3, or 1-2-3 + 1-2. 9/8 could also be spelled as
patterns of 1-2 + 1-2 + 1-2 + 1-2-3, or 1-2-3 + 1-2 + 1-2 + 1-2, or 1-2 + 1-2-3 + 1-2 + 1-2, or 1-2 + 1-2 + 1-2-3 + 1-2.
We could also have meters like 11/16..... etc.
Is there a way to configure the metronome in order to get the click I need?

Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Nordland

Metronome now uses beam pattern on meters whose denominator is greater than four. Enable this by setting the number of pulses to the top number of meter.

Thanks for enhancing Overture's metronome!

So we get the desired metronome pulse if we have a meter where the bottom number is greater than four AND we have defined a beam pattern? Because Overture derives the metronome pulses from the beam pattern? This bears out in testing on 5/8 with Beaming>Primary = 3:2

But then, what does Pulses have to do with it?

If Overture's metronome derives it's pulse pattern from Beaming>Primary then for a standard meter like 5/4 the metronome can't pulse 3-2 or 2-3?

Maybe Pulses should have separate fields like Beaming>Primary. Then metronome pulses could be based on Meter Pulses! And then beaming patterns would apply strictly to beaming.

Or am I missing something?

Also seems odd that (5/4) composite meters like 3+2 or 2+3 don't pulse the metronome automatically. And that unless the mete's bottom number is beamable (i.e. greater than 4) we appear to have no means to define metronome pulses for that meter.
