Using an iPhone or iPad as a mobile MIDI keyboard for input

Post by conductbri »

Does anyone know a good program or in general a way to use your iphone or ipad as a MIDI keyboard. As a traveling teacher (between) building sometimes it would be nice to quickly key in notes for short exercises. In version 4 I would use itouch midi and it was great. Now I can't figure out how to do it. I'm trying to use MIDI Keys. When I select Midi Setup on Overture my iphone shows up in the list and when I touch the piano keyboard on my iphone, it lights up and plays the correct note in overture but no notes are written on the page. Anyone use a program for this that works well, or can tell me how to make it work.

Is the round "Enable step input" button (looks like a MIDI port) at the bottom right of the note entry palette on? Make sure it's on: if it isn't, you will still hear the note, but it won't appear on the stave.
