Never mind about the percussion problem, I solved that by realizing that the note had to be "on the line" to sound.

Different question though: How do I change a Cello that's bowed (the default) to pizz and back? I can see it in the instrument panel in Kontakt, but I don't know how to do it within Overture.

In the Tools panel on the left, choose Text / Expression.

Click on Pizz and click on the staff where you want it to start. Place an arco when you want to go back to bowed.

How did you do it? I've never been able to get Overture to recognize Amadeus at all.

You need to get Overture to recognize Kontakt ( in the plugin setup ). With Kontakt, you open Amadeus.

In addition to Bill’s good advice I would add some additional information for you and other ASO users having difficulties. I hope it is helpful to someone…

Go to Native Access. Under your ‘Installed Products’ tab you should see ASO. If yes, that’s good, If no, that’s bad. The products are listed in alphabetical order so ASO should probably be the first library listed. Incidentally, while you’re connected to Native Access now’s a good opportunity to update everything that needs updating.

In Overture go to ‘Audio/MIDI’ and open the ‘Plugin Manager’ and rescan your plugins. First though, you need to be sure your VST plugin path(s) is/are accurate and you have Kontakt listed in the ‘Plugin Manager’ (once again, they are listed in alphabetical order). If not, make sure that your Kontakt VST is in your default folder for storing your VST’s, then rescan again.

Overture will now recognize ASO. For a quick check go to your Instrument Library Panel in Overture, click on Software Instrument and your recognized libraries will show up. Kontakt will be listed under ‘Native Instruments GmbH’. This procedure should work to get ASO successfully up and running.
