Importing Patch Names from Yamaha Motif

Discuss sample libraries as they pertain to Overture 4. Including auto-articulation playback, future instrument definitions, etc.

Importing Patch Names from Yamaha Motif

Post by Philip Lord »

Hello
does anyone have a suggestion about how to import patch names form Yamaha MOTIF-Rack XS into Overture 4?
The devices is recognized and the patches do change when I change numbers form overture, but I cannot get the bank names and patch lists to show.
Thank you.

If Cakewalk/Sonar has that instrument file (*.ins) it can probably exist in Overture as well. The file formats are identical IIRC.Try it! :D You can't kill anything by so doing.

I take it there is no .ins file for it in Overture? I haven't used rackmount gear since I had Three Proteus units.

It is an instrument definition file that should contain patch names, etc.

.ins files should be found in C:\program files\geniesoft\Overture 4.0\data

EDIT: That location is for PC...are you on a Mac? I have that suspicion.
If so, another user can help you here.
