Hi Mark,

Is the program at least running successfully or are you still getting "ACCESS DENIED?"

It seems to have gotten over the Access Denied, which I assume means that I'm in my 30-day trial period. So one bridge crossed, I think. None of my plugins are working though, so while I can at least create scores there is no audio output.

Me too, hopefully.

Well, that's not good, is it...

Starting with the basics, have you checked:

1. Audio/MIDI > Plugin Manager... that the VST plugins you want to use are in the correct folders, installed correctly, and the paths are matched up accordingly in Overture. Maybe you need to rescan them?

2. Audio/MIDI > Audio Settings... what device type are you using and can you hear a successful test tone from it?

The plugins are there and have been scanned repeatedly. The meters go up and down as if something should be happening, but there's no sound.

I do hear a test tone from either Windows Audio or Directsound.

So...your plugins are installed correctly, authorized on the new system, paths are set up correctly, and you can bring them up within Overture and load instruments into them, and see activity from them...just no sound?

Your audio device test also worked, and is configured properly...so it's just the playback of your instruments not coming through?

Usually, that would mean a channel/port mismatch and/or volume down or muted somewhere.

If you haven't already, I would test a blank project from scratch, set up a track or two, load the plugins... and troubleshoot the easier things first:

Channels in Overture's Track Inspector = Channels in your plugins

Are you using VEPro in this setup? If so, cross-check that both the ports and channels match.

What plugins are you using? VST2/VST3 - I am assuming they work fine on the old computer setup.

I think I finally have it worked out. I use GPO 4, with the Aria player, and apparently GPO 4 is so old it's no longer supported by current versions of the Aria player. So once they set me up with an old version of Aria, it's working now. We will see what happens when the 30 days are up, but for the moment I have music again for the first time in many months.

Hi there,
I use GPO 4, with the Aria player, and apparently GPO 4 is so old it's no longer supported by current versions of the Aria player.
On the Garritan store, I see that GPO 4 users can upgrade to GPO 5 for a modest $49.95. Then you could use the latest Aria player. Might well be worth considering.
And I sure hope the registration works when the demo expires.
Good luck!
